Netflix Original TV series based on the
Montauk Project and many other works, with
storytelling inspired by an amalgamation of works spanning from
the 80s-Present and original experiences by
the creators and writers.
The show follows a group of outcasts as they intelligently and resourcefully
unravel the corrupt and supernatural side of small conservative town Hawkins, Indiana.
In the series, the story begins on November 6th, 1983, but the story truly starts in the fall of 1959.
Young Henry Creel and his family move back to Hawkins in 1959, hoping for a fresh start--
maybe he can get a girlfriend, make some friends, act in a play, quiet the voices in his head...
though when they refuse to quiet, strange things begin happening in this once quiet town.
strange things begin to occur, retrospectively familiar to those in 1983 when discovered in 1986.
A 12 year-old boy goes missing on a random November day in small-town-where-nothing-ever-happens
Hawkins, Indiana, leading to the unfurling of many deadly secrets in this conservative town in the 80s.
With Will back in Hawkins, heads are turning and questions
are rising as Zombie Boy resurfaces. He tries to go back to normal life
that is, as normal as he can be after coughing up a slug in the sink and getting taken
over by the Shadow Monster. This October, pumpkin patch owners are feuding, trying to uncover
which one of their competitors is poisoning their crops. The only competitor is
a world parallel to theirs, except cold, dark, and with unseen creatures seeping through
the cracks of their world, and whose relations are no coincidence to Will's circumstances.
Back in Hawkins, the gang has happily accepted the end of the Upside-Down
so they kick-back by having a little fun at the new Starcourt Mall that opened in Hawkins.
Good for them, bad for the local businesses. Little do they know that beneath this new attraction
are scientists re-opening the very gate to this other world people lost their lives to close—
and when Will senses something's wrong, it means he's right.
This is yet another season of fighting monsters and understanding relationships.
Weird things start happening in Hawkins that pre-date spring of 1986-- all the way back to 1959.
As the gang tries to figure out who is behind all of the bone snappings and ritualistic sacrifices,
the Byers and El who have moved to California for a fresh start are realizing that their experience is rotting.
Eleven, despite her "non-existence," is yet again being hunted by the US Military, though this time for the murders she hasn't
committed. Through loss and love, the gang must fight their way back to each other with plot-lines
spanning from Russia, to California, to Utah, all the way back to Hawkins.
With Vecna dormant, giant rifts dividing Hawkins, and judgement day upon them,
the gang has been trying to feel normal again-- family breakfasts, school, escapism,
imaginary friends. But when his plans begin seeping through the fragile infrastructure of that
normalcy, the only thing they can do is react--jumping headfirst into battle mode, ready or not.
