Ruth Skinner

I work as an arts writer, proofreader, copy editor, editor, and publisher for individuals, galleries, institutions, and artist-run spaces. I partner with clients and collaborators to realize a variety of texts: artists' statements, exhibition proposals, exhibition texts and didactics, curatorial essays, promotional materials and press releases, poetry, short fiction, experimental writing, and academic essays. I've also worked with individual artists, researchers, and artist-run spaces to author, co-author and edit grants at municipal, provincial, and federal levels (artist grants, research grants, project grants, operational funding grants). I have experience in publishing for artists, galleries and artist-run spaces, and can assist with developing or refining texts, layouts, and image formatting for social media, web, handouts, booklets, and catalogues. With a personal interest in experimental writing forms, I am mindful of ensuring the artist-author's unique voice and aesthetic carries throughout their given project.
